Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Find Best House website (findbesthouse.com) and the “Find Best House” Chrome extension collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Find Best House helps you research Australian residential property by showing valuations, sale history, and watchlist actions inline on real-estate listing pages, and lets you direct an AI agent to browse those pages on your behalf.

1. Who we are

Find Best House (“we”, “us”) operates the findbesthouse.com web app and the associated Chrome browser extension. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@findbesthouse.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service:

  • Account & authentication. When you sign in, we store your email address and a session token (held in a secure, httpOnly cookie) so we can keep you logged in and load your saved data.
  • Property page content. When you view a listing on realestate.com.au, domain.com.au, property.com.au, or propertyvalue.com.au — or ask the AI agent to open one — the extension reads details on that page (such as the address, price guide, and sale history) to compute and display valuations. We do not collect property photos.
  • Your saved activity. Watchlist entries, saved valuations, comparisons, and inspection notes that you create in the product.
  • Usage analytics. Aggregated, product-interaction events (for example, which features you use) to improve the product. We do not use these to build advertising profiles.

We do not collect your browsing history on sites unrelated to property research, and the extension only runs on the specific real-estate domains and our own site listed in its permissions.

3. How we use your data

  • To calculate and display property valuations, sale history, and watchlist actions on the pages you visit.
  • To keep you signed in and sync your saved data across your devices.
  • To operate the AI-agent feature, which lets you direct an assistant to open, read, and interact with property tabs in your own browser (described in Section 4).
  • To diagnose problems and improve the product.

4. AI agent & browser automation

The extension includes an optional feature that lets you direct an AI agent to browse property pages for you. When you use it, the extension connects to our relay service and carries out the actions you request — such as opening a listing, reading its contents, or extracting valuation data.

To fulfil those requests, content from the property pages you direct the agent to may be transmitted to our relay and to the AI model provider that powers the agent. The agent only executes actions and code that are built into the extension; it never downloads or runs arbitrary code from the internet. The feature acts only on the real-estate domains the extension is permitted to access, and only when you initiate it.

5. Where your data is stored

Some data (cached sessions, valuations, and a local task queue) is stored inside your browser using Chrome storage and IndexedDB so the product loads quickly and works offline. If you are signed in, your account data, watchlist, and saved valuations are also stored on our backend servers. Data in transit is protected with HTTPS/TLS.

6. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to run the service:

  • Our hosting, database, and analytics providers, acting on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • The AI model provider that powers the agent feature, only for content you direct the agent to process (Section 4).
  • Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.

We do not use or transfer your data for purposes unrelated to the product’s single purpose, and we never use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

7. Third-party websites

The extension reads content from real-estate sites you visit (realestate.com.au, domain.com.au, property.com.au, propertyvalue.com.au) and may use a Google search to locate a property’s page. Those sites have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle your interactions with them; this policy covers only Find Best House.

8. Your choices & rights

  • You can use much of the extension without an account. Signing in is only needed to save data across devices.
  • You can clear locally cached data at any time from the extension's controls or by removing the extension.
  • You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by emailing privacy@findbesthouse.com.

9. Data retention

We keep account and saved data for as long as your account is active. Locally cached data is periodically swept and can be cleared by you at any time. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

10. Children

Find Best House is intended for adults researching property and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the product.
